China's more centrally planned economic controls will enable unconventional gas to take its place in the energy market without the very volatile disruptions now upsetting the North American market. However, it is uncertain whether shale gas production in USA will continue to grow at the high rates predicted by agencies and analysts given the depressed and uneconomic gas price.
