Set up by the late Richard Shepherd in 2003 we have built a strong portfolio of clients and are dedicated to providing a tailored service that suits the individual needs of companies in different areas of the energy sector.

Richard Kennedy Shepherd (1943-2012)

Richard began his energy career with the birth of the Rotterdam oil spot market and OPEC in the 1960s and worked in nuclear energy and world gas trade business in the 1970s before founding Petrodata, an offshore oil contracting data and forecasting business through the 1980s and 1990s. Following the successful sale of Petrodata in 2000, Richard founded Petrologica in 2003 in partnership with Fay Chen, along with a third party.

During his years with Petrologica, he worked with private clients including OPEC Secretariat and Stena covering oil, natural gas, alternative energies and power sectors. Richard did not stop working until his final months.

Richard died of cancer in August 2012.
