LNG MARKET SNAPSHOT – SEP 2012

Supply of LNG looks buoyant in the foreseeable future as electricity demand rises. A significant shift in trade away from the Atlantic Basin to the Pacific Basin is taking place. Average TCEs continue to rise due to tight LNG shipping capacity, reaching over $93,000 for Golar LNG in Q2 2012. However, the LNG fleet will see significant expansion in 2014/15. Ship owners should consider new orders very carefully before 2015.
