LNG Market Snapshot – December 2012

The LNG carrier order book has grown again in December. The Atlantic Basin experienced a slump in LNG loads in November. The Middle East and the Pacific Basin, however, maintained or even increased their LNG output slightly. LNG demand in the Atlantic Basin has risen from October levels but in the Pacific Basin it has decreased slightly overall despite an increase in Japan and South Korea. The continuous rise in Japanese LNG prices has not affected Japanese demand so far. LNG demand in the Middle East continues to rise, too. November's global LNG demand is on par with that of 2011.
