Norway’s Exploration Activities & New Field Developments – March 2017

  1. North Sea
    • Okea operatorship transfer for Yme redevelopment failed; Repsol to remain operator and Okea will participate as partner
    • Utgard PDO approved
    • Byrding PDO approved
    • Aker BP plan to submit a PDO for Storklakken during 2017
    • Skarfjell development concept selected as a subsea tieback to Gjoa
    • Luno II concept development expected to be selected in the summer with PDO submission in 2018
    • Added P1/North and Hamlet prospects to Exploration Activities
    • Added Cara to Probable Projects as a potential tieback to Gjoa
    • Added Hyrokkin prospect to Exploration Activities after Aker BP applied for environmental approval to drill two wildcats.
    • Added Langfjellet to Probable Projects after Aker BP indicated they are considering developing the field jointly, with the Frigg Gamma Delta
    • Removed PL 739 S from Exploration Activities after Statoil relinquished the licence in February 2017
  2. Norwegian Sea
    • Statoil’s Cape Vulture prospect completed as a discovery; expected tieback to Norne FPSO; moved to Probable Projects
    • Added Mim prospect to Probable Projects as a potential tieback to Norne
    • OMV issue tender for PL 644 for 1 well plus a 2 well option to commence in Q1 / Q2 2018
    • Added Carmen prospect to Exploration Activities with Statoil due to spud the wildcat in May 2017
    • Snilehorn prospect renamed Bauge and PDO submitted for the project as part of Statoil’s Njord Future project
  3. Barents Sea
    • Exploration well successfully completed at Filicudi prospect (PL 533, Lundin); Neiden and Filicudi moved to Probable projects.
    • Wisting 18 well programme tentatively scheduled for 2021
    • Eni’s wildcat well on Bone prospect comes up dry
