Bakken Monitor – August 2017

Data on productivity improvements show Texas basin wells holding on to gains better than Bakken wells. North Dakota's oil production retreated to 1.040 million b/d (-10,000 b/d m-o-m) in May, below our forecast. Though we see North Dakota production falling in June, we increase our total US LTO production growth forecast on more complete capex and well productivity data. Second quarter results begin to trickle in, suggesting a weak quarter for the LTO patch in general, although some stand-out operators like EOG are profitable within cash flow....
