Our comprehensive field database, which covers field development throughout the world was originally developed for the OPEC secretariat. Back in 2000, we combined future field development into a unique model that accurarately predicted the tightening of oil supply, several years before it happened. Since then, we have expanded this model into a dynamic oil supply simulation system.
This tool summarises the production levels in non-OPEC countries using data from Petrologica’s database. The oil supply itself is hypersensitive to oil price, decline rate and especially to the rate at which field development potential translates into actual projects – these features are all taken into account by the simulation system which maps supply sensitivity for several world regions.
