LNG Market Snapshot — October 2013

  • Two new additions to the world LNGC fleet (+ 319,800m3), now 360 vessels in total
  • More steps towards a deregulation of Russian LNG exports by 2016 – clear instructions for the abolishment of Gasprom’s gas export monopoly, CNPC on-board at Yamal LNG
  • LNG traded volumes in Atlantic Basin down 31%; Pacific Basin down 6%; Middle East down 12%
  • NLNG supply interrupted again by Shell force majeure; major exporters in scheduled maintenance programmes
  • Global LNG demand down 11% sequentially in September and 1.6% y-o-y; due to relatively mild climate
